Individual Researcher

Data Acquisition

Patient Monitors
BedMasterEx provides concurrent acquisition and indefinite storage of all waveform, vital sign, and alarm event data from both GE and Philips patient monitoring systems.  Data can be collected and stored for an unlimited period of time.

  • Single point of connection on the monitoring network for acquisition from all monitors
  • Waveforms are continuously collected in raw format as processed by the patient monitor
  • Vital Signs are collected at variable frequencies from every 5 seconds to 1 hour
  • Alarm Events are captured throughout the patient’s entire monitoring encounter

Medical Devices

BedMasterEx provides a cost-effective way of collection, storage, and time synchronization of the data from a growing list of medical devices.  Data may be collected either by connection to a GE or Philips patient monitor or by use of commercially available serial hubs. The later method utilizes a single mounted hub in each patient room. The serial hub has multiple ports and each integrated device is assigned a particular color coded port.  Our collection of these unique data sets allows for trending and correlation of parameters exported from the medical devices. Our device list is driven by customer request and currently includes but is not limited to

  • Infant warmers and incubators for temperature and weight (including the GE Giraffe and Panda products)
  • Masimo and Covidien pulse oximetry devices
  • Somanetics cerebral/somatic oximeters
  • Light and sound meters
  • Oxygen analyzers

Clinical Database

BedMasterEx is the most robust patient monitoring and peripheral medical device data collection system on the market with the unique ability to indefinitely store raw waveforms.

  • Time synchronization of all collected data, waveforms, and video
  • Data collected at variable intervals from 5 seconds to 1 hour
  • Waveforms acquired continuously and stored as seen on monitor
  • Data export to Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access for review and mining (standard SQL reporting and data mining tools can be  used to analyze large data sets)
  • Waveform and data export in Binary, XML, HL7 and other formats to interface with the facility’s EMR, HIS, and research applications
  • Multiple server capability for a multiple department or facility System
  • BedMasterEx SQL database runs on Microsoft Server 2003 or 2008, allowing for multiple sites to share a single data base
  • Unlimited storage of data and waveforms via acquisition, backup, and archive server options (archival feature allows off-line storage of the data to the medium of your choice)

Digital Video

The BedMasterEx video option provides a solution that allows remote visual monitoring or retrospective clinical review

  • A powerful tool in a private room environment. Features of the video application include:
  • Video stream is synchronized and embedded with patient monitor waveforms
  • Resolution up to 30 frames per second
  • Remote viewing via a secure connection to the Hospital’s network (Citrix compatible)
