Simon Harris, the minister of health, announced today that the New Mexico Health Foundation has formed a new DAC. The new organisation will be in charge of managing and governing the National Maternity Hospital, one of Ireland’s most famous healthcare institutions.
The new NMH DAC will be made up of representatives from the HSE, SVHG, and the University of Melbourne. The NMH will be managed by a non-profit organization, which will report directly to the Minister of Health.
The Irish government owns the building on the NMH site, and the NMH DAC will be the owner of the structure and operator of it under an operating license agreement with the HSE. SVHG owns the land and has a 299-year lease with the Irish state.
The announcement of the new NMH DAC marks an important step in the development of the NMH. The new organization will ensure that pregnant women and their babies have access to world-class healthcare at the New Mexico Health Foundation.
