Innovative medical software company located in sunny Jupiter, FL (northern Palm Beach County) is seeking to fill an Implementation Engineer (Technical Project Manager) position.

The responsibilities of the Implementation Engineer are varied and may include, but are not limited to, acquiring, maintaining, and disseminating a deep understanding of how Excel Medical products are deployed and supported. The Implementation Engineer will be responsible for using their knowledge of the EME product line to efficiently complete assigned tasks and anticipate and execute problem solving measures. This will include coordinating and executing general project management involving the EME Engineering, Operations, and Sales teams to provide superior customer service during system implementations and support procedures. The Implementation Engineer will be required to:

  • Provide remote consultation and project management on small, medium, and large scale installation and implementation projects for North American and international health systems;
  • Travel to customer sites for project kick off and other needed meetings (20%);
  • Serve as a point of contact and collaborate with all levels of the customer’s organization (IT, Biomedical Engineering, executive, and clinical) on the engagement strategy;
  • Manage project details including key stakeholders, scope, product demonstrations, timelines, development tasks, communications, and go-lives;
  • Establish and maintain VPN accounts with multiple and diverse customer requirements;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive customer files with project documentation for tasks and timelines, workflows and other diagrams, testing results, and other documents as required;
  • Manage dependencies between EME and third-party Healthcare IT partners;
  • Guide the EME implementation team by finding creative solutions and appropriate personnel to address issues and challenges;
  • Prepare weekly status reports, update KPIs, and escalate critical issues to management;
  • Conduct post-implementation customer check-ups via VPN accounts;
  • Coordinate with EME’s assigned Sales team members on continued customer engagement strategy and serve as a point of contact for all technical support;
  • Interface and travel with EME senior management for high priority / high visibility projects;
  • Cultivate knowledge of EME’s products, EHRs, and emerging trends in the healthcare industry.


  • Demonstrable professionalism during both verbal and written interpersonal communication;
  • Excellent memorization skills and attention to detail;
  • Advanced understanding of network routing and switching in relation to application connectivity needs;
  • Thorough understanding of concepts required for EMR integration using the HL7 protocol, ADT message types, and serial communication with monitoring devices;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016) setup and management;
  • Extensive experience with installation, configuration, and querying of Microsoft SQL Server (2014, 2016, 2017);
  • Strong knowledge of Windows based application installation and configuration;
  • Basic knowledge of Linux and Android systems and environments;
  • Knowledge of network security and specific vendor security products a big plus;
  • Understanding of the following platforms and concepts:
    • VPN and related GUI/web-portal based administrative tools,
    • VMWare administration,
    • Active Directory and domain controller administration,
    • Group Policy configuration and administration,
    • NTFS permission management,
    • Citrix XenApp application configuration,
    • Cloud hosting,
    • LAN/WAN concepts such as DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP;
  • Experience and comfort in dealing with mechanical hardware;
  • Strong verbal comprehension and direction following capabilities;
  • Comfort with independent work and intuitiveness to exercise sound judgment;
  • Even keeled to handle stressful environments;
  • Willingness to cover after hours support rotation;
  • Ability to show up daily for work in our Jupiter, FL office (no remote work).


  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher);
  • 3 or more years of project management experience in Healthcare IT;
  • Experience with XML and JSON data management concepts;
  • Basic or advanced knowledge of C#, C++, and/or JavaScript a plus.
